During the 1990’s the computer virus was the biggest threat on the internet. As the popularity of web browsing grew, the evil villains who wrote code like that got even more creative. They discovered that there was actually money to be made by infecting your computer unbeknownst to you, with some malicious code to influence what happens when you are connected to the internet. And so came the birth of spyware and malware.

I will spare you all of the other history behind it. If you are reading this, I am sure you are quite aware of what this spyware and malware stuff is as well as what it does to your pc. I’ll get straight to the good stuff.

So what is the best spyware or malware program available right now?

Trust me folks. I have many years of experience removing virus, spyware and other malware infections from computers. Every so often, a really useful program comes out that is by far the best at removing these types of infections. Right now I can highly recommend two of them.

The two best free anti-spyware programs on the market

The first is a program called Super Anti Spyware. Don’t let the name fool you. I know it sounds cheesy. As a matter of fact, when I first came across it, I was convinced that it was one of those rogue antispyware programs that have become so prevalent today. Well, I can honestly say that this is the single best program on the market for cleaning spyware and malware off of your computer. It has a memory resident component that watches in the background for certain events like something trying to change your homepage. That is called browser hijacking. I use this program all of the time as part of my professional daily workload. I recommend it to all of my customers. You can download it for free.

The second program I can honestly recommend is called Malwarebytes Anti-malware. This program is also very good at removing things like rootkits, which are the latest viral type programs that you are likely to come in contact with. The guys who wrote this software really know their stuff. You can download it for free from Malwarebytes.

Both of those programs are free

You can’t beat free. It is really great that these companies adopted a business model of providing a great product to consumers totally free. The paid versions of them come with a few bells and whistles, but the basic and most useful parts of the programs are totally functional in the free version.

I have experience using all of the major antimalware programs on the market. I don’t care what anybody tells you. These programs are definitely the best. I can also highly recommend a registry cleaner for use in conjunction with either of these programs. Registry Easy is a program that corrects Active X problems that occur due to spyware and malware infections. The Active X controls are a component of Internet Explorer. Spyware and Malware scripts use Active X to do their dirty work. It is really important to correct any problems you have with Active X in order to prevent infections or re-infections.
